ARTIST`S STATEMENT

Art is a magical, enchanted, ancient language that speaks directly to the soul. It is the task of the visionary artist to take the pilgrimage to the inner landscape, connect with the wisdom that dwells there and bring it forward, for others, through the image. Visionary art is an alchemical journey. Alchemy is the bringing together of spirit and matter into a united whole.

Art that truly arises from the inner landscape awakens subtle emotions, of a spiritual nature, that are powerful, yet nameless. The artist who lets the creative process move through her, can experience being lifted out of a chaotic feeling state into a place of higher understanding by the very process of creating the image. The image and it's resultant essential spirit has the ability to impact the viewer to move to a place within themselves which can connect them to their own well of higher wisdom and find insight and improved health.

The nature of my work is to create images that are fresh, whimsical and powerful. Images that plant seeds that nudge the viewer's consciousness to move to a new level. I continue to work within systems that give focus and structure to my process without impinging on the inner nature from which it is created. I use a holistic approach to creating image that integrates body, mind and spirit that enhances the intuitive nature of my work.

Through my visionary work, images are created that spring from the inner well of wisdom in union with the collective unconscious and the wisdom of the ancients. The images speak to deep levels of the psyche and activate inner wisdom in the mind of the viewer. From this place an energetic dialog occurs that touches the psyche through an interchange of color, symbol, metaphor, movement, image and space, all of which dance together to create a form that speaks the language of the soul.

When faced with symbol, color and image that we don't understand the initial impulse is to search for words to give the image meaning. My images are an invitation to the viewer to imagine, to move from head to heart, from the rational to the intuitive, into that place where their own inner wisdom lies, so they can reach a higher level of understanding. The meaning of the image becomes less important than the wisdom that is gained in the individual. When one can allow themselves to contact their inner wisdom, it brings about a heart opening that can be felt as they view the image. It is not important whether the image brings up love, joy, anger, fear, disgust, confusion or wonder. The information that comes in the wake of those feelings is the treasure that is awoken in the process. To me this is the true nature of visionary art.

Being an artist is a sacred responsibility and if I have done my job well, the essence of the piece will speak to our collective experience so that we feel less separate and more whole. This is summed up nicely in the words of Wassily Kandinsky when he said:

"We have before us the age of conscious creation, and this new spirit in painting is going hand in hand with the spirit of thought towards and epoch of great spiritual healers."

It is my desire that my Art Work act as a bridge between the physical reality and the metaphysical reality of metaphor and symbol that is the source of healing, transformation, beauty and Divine Love. I dedicate my work to creating products and services that support this vision to bring transformation and healing to others.
